About
Hi I’m author Evelyn Winters! Since 2014 I have been publishing children’s stories, developing my journey as an educator in publishing and storytelling. Slowly, over those years, I have been building the wonderful world of The Evelyn Winters Adventure.
With a career spanning decades and marked by diverse roles, my story is a narrative of resilience and creativity. In the late 1980s, I embarked on my professional journey as part of a glossy magazine team in Chester, where I honed my skills in storytelling, setting the stage for my future as an author.
In my 20s, I dedicated my time to working for a disability rights center, training and supporting volunteers from all walks of life. My commitment to inclusivity and empowerment began to shape my unique perspective. For nine years, I successfully managed a contract cleaning company, showcasing my business acumen and determination, driven by my entrepreneurial spirit.
For over a decade, I ventured into a new path, teaching IT for a local college. My passion for education and ability to inspire students left an indelible mark, fostering a love for learning in those I taught. In 2006, I set my sights on a lifelong dream – writing my first novel, a labour of love that took six years to complete. During this time, I discovered the profound benefits of storytelling as a means of escape and connection. Not content with one success, I ventured into the world of short stories, drawing inspiration from local history, and my literary talents continued to blossom, enriching my storytelling repertoire.
The year 2020 brought its own set of challenges as I was diagnosed with breast cancer during the global pandemic. During one of the most challenging times of my life, I discovered a quiet strength I didn’t know I had. In the midst of the struggle, I turned to something that had always brought me comfort—storytelling. Pouring myself into the creative process became a source of solace and healing. Little by little, I channeled my pain and uncertainty into stories that not only helped me but also allowed me to connect with others. It’s been humbling to see how following this passion has inspired others, just as it’s inspired me to keep going.
I don’t see myself as just an author—I’m simply someone who has experienced the power of resilience, creativity, and the strength of the human spirit. My journey has taught me that even in tough times, it’s possible to find a way to create something meaningful and beautiful.
